About the roleWe’re seeking a Compliance Officer to join our Governance and Controls team on a 12-month fixed-term-contract to cover parental leave within the team. Supporting the NFU Mutual agency network across the South East region, this is a pivotal role that helps to ensure our business continues to comply with internal and external regulatory requirements. As a Compliance Officer, you’ll act as the region’s eyes and ears when it comes to risk and compliance management. Your work will help us maintain the trust our customers place in us. From investigating issues and analysing trends to preparing, reporting and supporting risk discussions, you’ll play a key role in safeguarding our reputation and supporting our agencies to deliver good outcomes. You’ll be joining a collaborative, proactive and hard-working team, reporting to the Governance and Controls (G&C) manager, and working closely with Quality Development Consultants. Aside from your immediate team, you’ll also be working with our Head Office compliance teams and other Compliance Officers across other regions. You'll be the go-to person for reported issues, validating details, identifying the root causes and escalating where appropriate. You'll regularly review monthly reports and declarations to identify patterns, emerging risks, and ensure issues are identified and resolved. A key part of your role will be preparing risk meeting packs, monitoring quality targets, and supporting agencies to develop and deliver robust action plans. You’ll also produce monthly newsletters to communicate important updates, trends and insights across the region, making sure everyone involved stays in the loop. When it comes to audits, your support will be vital — you’ll coordinate and support audit activity, ensuring all the necessary evidence is gathered in advance and carrying out trend analysis to inform the process. Working well with others is key; you’ll be involved in Head Office projects and share ideas with colleagues in different regions. You’ll be working closely with the G&C Manager, providing helpful insights, supporting agency reviews and contribute to stakeholder discussions that ensure we uphold high standards of compliance and quality. This is a homeworking role with a requirement to attend a site in the South East, typically central London, once a month. Should your place of residence be commutable to one of our sites, you have the option to work more days from a site or office if you would like to. This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”. About youYou’re passionate about regulatory compliance and may have experience working in a regulated environment. You’re comfortable analysing data, identifying trends, and communicating your findings clearly to stakeholders verbally and through written mediums. Your collaborative approach means you build effective relationships and work well as part of a team.
