How does this role contribute to our collective success?
As a Risk Manager within AXIS’s Group Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team, you will play a central role in shaping how risk is understood, communicated, and managed across the organisation. This is a highly visible position that partners directly with senior leaders, influences key decision‑making, and contributes to the ongoing enhancement of our global risk framework.
As part of the Group Risk Team, based primarily in London, you will contribute to a core mandate: identifying risk issues and heightened exposures, and reporting them clearly, consistently and in a way that supports timely action across the organisation. You will collaborate closely with specialist assurance and oversight functions across AXIS, helping to bring together a truly enterprise‑wide view of risk. Your work will directly influence leadership discussions, strengthen our risk culture, and support the continued resilience of the Group.
What will you do in this role?
Support risk management for AXIS’s market-leading Syndicates
Partner with the AXIS Managing Agency Chief Risk Officer to monitor, assess, and report on the Syndicates’ most material risks. This includes leading the production of quarterly risk appetite reporting, developing and refining key risk indicators, and playing a pivotal role in evolving the overall risk appetite framework.
Drive the climate & emerging risks agenda
Support AXIS’s work on emerging and climate‑related risks by helping to identify and assess the trends shaping our evolving risk landscape. You will contribute to horizon‑scanning, deliver focused deep‑dive analyses, and work with subject‑matter experts to bring clarity to complex themes. In this role, you will help prepare materials for senior stakeholders on the Climate Change and Emerging Risk Working Groups, strengthening how emerging and climate risks inform AXIS’s broader risk discussions.
Lead risk oversight for AXIS Bermudian entities
Serve as the primary ERM liaison, driving continuous enhancement of the risk management framework and owning the preparation of key internal risk reporting materials, including the CRO Report and the annual ORSA. You will work closely with teams across the business to source critical data, design insightful metrics, and build high‑quality dashboards and analyses that elevate the organisation’s understanding of risk.
Deliver high‑impact analysis on key risk themes
Support Group and Legal Entity Chief Risk Officers on ad hoc projects and thematic deep dives on topics such as operational resilience, macroeconomic developments, and geopolitical trends. This involves gathering and synthesising information, shaping insights, and assisting with presentations delivered to senior governance forums.
Strengthen the operation of the wider risk framework
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the ERM function to ensure the successful operation of the risk management framework. This includes supporting risk assessments, conducting detailed reviews, preparing initial drafts of papers and information requests, and contributing to a culture of disciplined, high‑quality risk oversight.
