Our Pricing Department is a well-established and thriving function which focuses on delivering long term value for our customers, rather than working to short-term profit targets. This role sits within our Commercial Lines Pricing team and focuses on using technical expertise to develop and deliver street (customer) prices. You will play a central role in designing, building, implementing and communication of pricing models and rating algorithms. You will also be responsible for monitoring performance to ensure key metrics such as premium, conversation rates, retention rates and profitability are in line with business objectives. This includes analysing internal and external data, utilising pricing models, and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders including those in Data, Modelling, Risk Pricing, Underwriting, Distribution, Claims, and Finance divisions. You will be responsible for leading on and acting as the technical expert and referral point for complex pricing analyses, model build and design - as well conducting scenario planning and impact assessments to understand the effect of pricing actions on conversion, retention and profitability. Monitoring and analysing street price performance and driving value to the business, will also be a key task, communicating rating proposals and analysis with key stakeholders. You will also take ownership of quality control processes across pricing models and data, ensuring accuracy, integrity and consistency - as well as undertaking coaching & mentoring, and project related tasks too. This role will be aligned to our Stratford-upon-Avon offices – with the expectation that you will spend 20% of your time onsite, and up to 80% working from home. About youYou are a highly skilled Pricing professional with extensive experience in General Insurance and a strong track record of delivering technically robust, data driven pricing analysis. You bring deep expertise across pricing methodologies, model development and data analysis, and you are confident acting as a technical role model within a team. Technical skills required: General Insurance experience is a MUST Pricing experience (any product, but Commercial Lines knowledge is preferred) Price optimisation, Radar, and SQL capability / experience, are all highly desirable You will also be able to demonstrate experience in: Advanced pricing analyses (e.g., demand or loss cost models, algorithm construction, customer impact analysis) Making technical recommendations Advanced software expertise (e.g., Emblem, Radar, R) Supervising or leading technical work, supporting colleagues in developing capability Contributing to or progressing professional qualificationsYou’ll also have a strong problem solving mindset, and an inquisitive and analytical approach matched with the ability to present technical information to nontechnical audiences.
