As a Senior Systems Development Consultant supporting Guidewire PolicyCenter, you will shape the technical vision and deliver advanced capabilities across Sovereign’s core insurance platform. You will design and build complex solutions, enhance integrations, strengthen automation and DevSecOps practices, and ensure production stability. You will collaborate with senior partners to drive innovation, quality and long-term architectural excellence.
How you will create impact:
- Designing and deliver scalable, end to end insurance solutions within the Guidewire ecosystem, including configuration, Gosu development, product modeling, workflows, and UI enhancements.
- Customizing Guidewire out of the box features and build new capabilities to meet complex business and underwriting requirements.
- Performing technical analysis, create design documentation, and define program logic in collaboration with Solution Architecture teams.
- Partnering with Business, Architecture, and QA teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions and ensure smooth, cohesive delivery.
- Leading strategic initiatives across the Guidewire platform, including workflows, rating, integrations, and document generation.
- Identifying and remediate technical debt and inefficiencies, improving system performance and stability using Guidewire and enterprise best practices.
- Integrating Guidewire applications with enterprise systems, internal services, cloud platforms, and third-party providers using modern integration patterns.
- Contributing to release planning, code integration, branching strategies, and deployment activities in partnership with DevSecOps and Release Management.

To join our team:
- 7+ years of hands‑on experience with Guidewire products (preferably PolicyCenter), with proven application development expertise and a deep understanding of Guidewire architecture and internal components.
- 10+ years of overall experience in building and designing software solutions
- Strong proficiency in Guidewire configuration, Gosu development, UI workflows, GUnit testing, Guidewire Studio/IntelliJ, and platform tools/accelerators.
- Experience working in Agile environments using Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Splunk, Jira/Confluence, VS Code, GitHub Copilot, and TeamCity.
- Expertise integrating Guidewire with external systems using REST APIs, SOAP services, message queues, XML, and batch processes.
- Solid experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Guidewire Associate or ACE Certification required, knowledge of Guidewire Rating is an asset.

Expected salary/hourly range $91,058 - $141,000+
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Sovereign in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
