Our Claims Management Team is looking for a dynamic self-starter with a broad claims handling background. Utilizing previous experience and established corporate philosophies, policies, procedures and standards, the successful candidate will oversee a diverse portfolio of property and liability commercial claims, including auto/fleet, Equipment Breakdown and other lines of business contingent on abilities and needs
How you will create impact:

Setting up and investigating claims as assigned within authority level, providing control and direction to adjusters, appraisers, and solicitors to ensure claims advance in a timely manner.

Reviewing and interpreting the insurance policy wordings, loss information and drafting coverage letters as required.

Maintaining extensive knowledge of insurance coverage, settlement methods, procedure, investigation methods, and creative negotiation skills and file management.

Reporting on loss and expense reserves within established guidelines.

Liaising, collaborating and maintaining good relationships with the underwriting team, submitting risk information where appropriate.
- Attend training, meetings and industry events as an individual and team contributor as needed.

To join our team:
- A minimum of 5 years claims experience with an emphasis on complex multi-line commercial claims.
- Previous experience handling commercial property, liability, equipment breakdown. Cyber experience and professional liability claims will be an asset.
- A commercial AMF license is required

You will provide support to clients who are experiencing a personal or financial loss. A high degree of confidentiality and discretion is required.

You will be attending mediations, settlement conferences and court proceedings as required.

Salary information
Expected salary range $72,847 to $121,411
Salary placement
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Incentive/Variable pay
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
