You’ll see how we interpret regulatory change, assess risk, strengthen controls and support colleagues across the organisation to act with integrity and confidence.You won’t just observe – you’ll contribute. You might research emerging regulatory themes, support review and assurance activity, explore how new technologies such as AI could enhance our approach, or help shape communications that guide business behaviour. You’ll gain first-hand experience of how compliance activity connects to commercial objectives and customer trust.By the end of the programme, you’ll have delivered a tangible piece of work you can genuinely talk about in future interviews – something you’ve owned, developed and refined through feedback, with a clear understanding of the impact it has on the wider organisation.How we'll support youYou’ll be supported closely throughout your internship, both within Compliance and as part of our wider Internship Programme.In your first week, you’ll spend dedicated time in the office with your Placement Manager getting to know NFU Mutual, the insurance industry and the regulatory landscape we operate in. You’ll complete corporate induction learning, receive systems training and agree clear placement objectives, including your end-of-programme presentation brief.Throughout the 8 weeks, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals and Compliance Business Partners who regularly engage with senior leaders across the organisation. You’ll see first-hand how we influence, advise and challenge at all levels of the business.Alongside your team experience, our Early Careers team will support your wider development. You’ll attend networking events with fellow interns, take part in a presentation skills session to help you prepare for your final showcase, and benefit from structured feedback conversations to help you reflect and grow.We’ll trust you with real responsibility, but you won’t be left to figure things out alone. You’ll receive guidance, stretch opportunities and regular feedback, while also being encouraged to manage your time effectively and take ownership of your work.By the end of the programme, you’ll deliver a final presentation on your project and leave with tangible experience, stronger commercial awareness and greater confidence in your own capability.
