Description

The Impact Analytics team at Convex supports Underwriters by offering analytical support with portfolio design, pricing models, and risk analysis across insurance and reinsurance. Working closely with the broader Analytics and Actuarial teams, we actively engage with Underwriters to provide transparency and build confidence in our work.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting Underwriters across multiple lines of business with risk selection by performing bespoke case pricing, designing pricing models, evaluating growth opportunities within existing & new markets, and optimising the gross & net performance of existing portfolios.
Collaborating with Exposure Management, Capital Modelling, Ceded Re and Actuarial teams to ensure consistent decision-making.
Driving forward Convex’s ambition to build market-leading, data & tech-enabled portfolio optimisation capabilities.
Working with Data engineers and BI Developers to design analytical tools.
Facilitating the rollout and Underwriter adoption of group-wide initiatives.
Upholding Convex values and sharing expertise across the company.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Nearly or newly qualified Actuary with 3 to 5 years’ experience in the London market (re)insurance sector. Pricing or portfolio management experience highly preferred.
Excellent communicator, both verbally and written, with a proven track record of working directly with Underwriters.
Deep understanding of core technical actuarial concepts.
Ability to work both individually and as part of a team, delivering results through cross-functional collaboration.
A curious mindset with a keen interest in using data and technology to improve our decision-making.
