Drive Growth & Strategic Development:
Support the onboarding of new schemes and renewal tenders
Work closely with Underwriting, Governance, Claims, Operations and Broker Development
Feed insights directly into the Schemes Growth Plan with the Head of Schemes Development
Ensure Robust Governance of Delegated Authority Business:
Run reporting cycles, commentary and trend analysis
Support delegated authority requirements including service standards, data quality and oversight
Ensure that scheme partners operate within Markel’s governance and compliance expectations
What You Bring:
We are looking for experienced DA/Schemes professionals who can get going quickly. You’ll have:
A shown background in delegated authority, schemes management, or MGA/broker DA oversight
Strong commercial and analytical capability with confidence interpreting MI
Experience running structured broker performance reviews (QBRs, renewal strategies, tenders)
The ability to challenge, influence and collaborate with Underwriters, Brokers, Governance and Claims
A proactive approach passionate about building strong connections and a passion for delivering high-quality outcomes
If you’ve worked in the London Market, a regional broker, underwriting team or MGA with delegated authority responsibilities, we want to speak with you.
Why Markel?
At Markel, we do things differently. You’ll find:
Autonomy to run your scheme portfolio like a business
Visibility to senior leadership and cross‑class underwriters
Opportunity to shape the future of our schemes strategy
A competitive salary, strong bonus scheme, outstanding benefits, and genuine flexibility
You’ll join a team that is growing fast but staying true to Markel’s people‑first culture — collaborative, supportive and grounded in integrity.
