Thanks to continued growth, our US Healthcare team are looking to recruit an Underwriter with previous Healthcare experience to join the UK team.
The Healthcare team offers two packaged policy solutions for both the traditional healthcare and the digital healthcare industry. At CFC we are continuously innovating, and this rings true with our Healthcare team who are constantly ensuring that our tailored policies are created to adequately address the bespoke exposures that healthcare providers face when operating in the digital world.
About the role
As a US Healthcare Underwriter, you will work closely with the Healthcare Team Leader across all aspects of underwriting, including new business, renewals, broker engagement and business development.
You will underwrite both traditional and digital healthcare risks from a holistic perspective, writing multiple classes of insurance and contributing to wider team initiatives. You will play a key role in developing new business opportunities, strengthening broker relationships and driving profitable portfolio growth. The role will include international travel as required.
- Managing broker enquiries in a timely and professional manner, producing new and renewal quotations within agreed SLAs and underwriting authority;
- Developing new business opportunities through proactive engagement with new and existing broker partners;
- Drafting and supporting the development of bespoke endorsements where required;
- Producing and maintaining regular portfolio and underwriting reports;
- Clearly articulating the features, benefits and coverage enhancements of CFC’s Healthcare and eHealth products, including support for product launches;
- Preparing and delivering internal and external presentations on products, market trends and emerging risks;
- Building subject‑matter expertise across US healthcare classes, including monitoring relevant legislation, regulation and compliance considerations;
- Contributing to team performance targets across new business and renewals.
About you
We’re looking for an experienced, driven self‑starter with a strong work ethic who can operate effectively both independently and as part of a team. You will bring prior healthcare or medical malpractice experience from either an underwriting or broker background with a proven ability to build and maintain long‑term broker relationships.
You will be sales‑focused and a confident problem‑solver, capable of building new relationships while rapidly strengthening existing ones. Strong negotiation skills are essential, alongside experience delivering effective presentations to brokers and key stakeholders.
You will be comfortable working at a high pace and intensity, aligning with the performance‑driven culture that underpins the success of the CFC business. With the emerging nature of digital healthcare, a successful candidate will be proficient technically and keen to stay on top of current affairs within the industry.
