The Opportunity:
Our Leeds‑based London Market Claims team plays a critical role in our Claims Value Proposition, focusing specifically on London Market claims across Marine, Energy, and Professional/Financial Risks. Working in partnership with our London claims team, the Leeds function handles high‑volume, lower‑value claims, forming a key delivery arm within the division.
As our Claims Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of a team of Claims Adjusters and bring strong leadership, operational oversight, and technical capability. You’ll drive performance against critical metrics, support development across the team, and help shape process improvements while managing your own portfolio of claims.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Leading and developing a team of Claims Adjusters through regular coaching, 1‑2‑1s, and performance management
Managing a portfolio of high‑volume, low‑value London Market claims from first notification to settlement
Working closely with London Market Claims Managers and the wider London team to deliver excellent technical and operational outcomes
Monitoring individual performance, supporting capability growth, and effectively prioritising team and personal workloads
Maintaining accurate updates across in‑house and London Market systems, keeping the following market informed of key developments
Reviewing and triaging claims in line with the Claims Handling Manual, ensuring robust decision‑making
Managing relationships with TPAs, lawyers, loss adjusters and other service providers, ensuring consistently high service quality
Building strong internal relationships across underwriting, actuarial, and reinsurance teams, alongside external partners such as brokers and (re)insureds
What We’re Looking For:

Must‑haves
Strong understanding of the insurance claims industry
Excellent organisation, prioritisation, and stakeholder‑management skills
A collaborative, proactive approach and a desire to bring out the best in others
Confidence to make decisions and champion improvement within the claims function
Nice‑to‑haves
Experience supervising or managing individuals or teams
Knowledge of the London Market and its systems
Experience handling Marine, Energy or Professional/Financial Risk claims
