Our Claims Management Team is looking for a dynamic self-starter with a natural ability to lead people. Utilizing previous commercial experience and established corporate philosophies, policies, procedures and standards, the successful candidate will plan, organize, guide, and evaluate the activities of the Claims teams for the Quebec Region in Montreal. He or she will be a mentor and coach with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, the ability to develop and engage a high-performance team of professionals and be personally committed to exceptional customer service.
How you will create impact:
- Managing, recruiting, coaching, and providing technical feedback and guidance to a team of 6- 10 people in a fast-paced environment, through file review, internal auditing, and oversight of daily activities.
- Managing and leading the development and maintenance of positive, collaborative, and productive relationships with staff from other offices and Sovereign General departments.
- Participating in the ongoing development of processes and procedures with the Claims Management team, under the direction of the Associate Vice President Claims.
- Overseeing the claims team, on large complex files and liaise with the National Claims Operations on files exceeding office authority participating in meetings, mediations, trials, and Examinations for Discovery.
- Participating in budget planning/forecasting and reconciliation for the Montreal Claims operations.

To join our team:
- A minimum of 7 years claims experience with 3 minimum years of managerial experience.
- Licensed with the AMF
- Commercial experience
- Proficiency in both English and French is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority anglophone and francophone clients, groups, and teams. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.

Salary information
Expected salary range $91,058 to $151,764
Salary placement
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Incentive/Variable pay
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
