We are looking for an energetic, experienced Underwriting Assistant to join our UA team. The successful candidate will provide support to our underwriters through collaboration and performing a variety of administrative duties associated with the underwriting function.
How you will create impact:
- Completing the entry of new business, endorsements and renewals into the system and issuing policies.
- Training and mentoring less experienced staff, as well as assisting team lead or manager with workflow and creation of a team-oriented approach to meeting Regional and Corporate goals.
- Ordering risk inspections for underwriters, as requested.
- Preparing and maintaining basic file set up documents subject to the underwriter’s approval.
- Obtaining additional information from Brokers as required by the Underwriter.

To join our team:
- Minimum 2–3 years insurance industry experience, preferably commercial insurance.
- High School Diploma required.
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) courses an asset.
- Proficiency in both English and French is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority anglophone and francophone clients, groups, and teams. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.

Salary information
Expected salary range $43,550 to $72,583
Salary placement
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Incentive/Variable pay
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
