What can you expect in this role?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Network Engineering Intern to join our Enterprise Network Engineering team. This is a hands-on learning opportunity where you will work alongside experienced Senior Network Engineers to support, maintain, and automate a complex enterprise network environment.
In this role, you will gain exposure to industry-leading technologies (Cisco, Arista, Check Point) and learn the fundamentals of enterprise routing, switching, firewalls, and network automation. You will help update documentation, write basic automation scripts, and assist in troubleshooting day-to-day network operations while receiving strong mentorship from our senior staff.
What You’ll Be Doing
Network Operations & Support
- Assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Gain hands-on exposure to Cisco routers/switches, Arista switches, and wireless access points.
- Help monitor the health of LAN, WAN, and data center networks.
- Learn the fundamentals of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and switching technologies (VLANs, STP).
Security & Firewalls
- Shadow senior engineers to understand how Check Point firewalls and VPNs secure an enterprise environment.
- Assist in reviewing and auditing firewall rules and security policies.
- Learn how network design aligns with overarching security requirements.
Troubleshooting & Incident Management
- Assist with diagnosing basic network connectivity issues, latency, and packet loss.
- Learn how to use network analysis tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump for traffic analysis and packet captures.
- Shadow senior engineers during complex troubleshooting scenarios and incident responses to understand enterprise resolution workflows.
Automation & Scripting
- Help develop, test, and maintain basic network automation scripts using Python, Bash, or APIs.
- Assist the team in automating repetitive operational tasks (e.g., configuration backups, inventory gathering) to improve efficiency.
- Learn the basics of Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) and how it applies to modern networking.
Documentation & ITSM
- Help produce and maintain high-quality network documentation, including updating network diagrams, configuration standards, and operational runbooks.
- Learn how to navigate IT Service Management (ITSM) processes using platforms like ServiceNow for ticketing and change requests.
What You Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of basic networking fundamentals (e.g., OSI model, TCP/IP, basic routing and switching concepts).
- Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (Python is highly preferred).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong eagerness to learn, ask questions, and be mentored in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
- Working toward entry-level network certifications (e.g., CCNA or CompTIA Network+).
- Experience setting up basic home labs or school projects involving routers, switches, or firewalls.
- Basic understanding of Linux/Unix command-line navigation.
- Curiosity about cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

About Us
This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.
The hourly compensation for the role starts at $22.50 per hour and will increase based on factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, and the recommended rates as set by the respective educational institution.
