The Associate Underwriter plays a vital role in delivering our AI-powered underwriting platform’s differentiated value proposition by efficiently managing standard insurance submissions, supporting broker communications, and ensuring high-quality underwriting throughout. Working within a collaborative ‘pod’ structure under the guidance of a Senior Underwriter, the AU executes repeatable, process-driven tasks that drive volume and efficiency, allowing the team to scale while maintaining strong broker relationships.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute standard underwriting submissions, applying established guidelines and logic codified within the proposal engine.
- Manage submission pipelines, ensuring timely processing and supporting the delivery of quotes in accordance with productivity expectations.
- Support minor broker communications and follow-ups as needed, serving as a reliable point of contact for routine inquiries.
- Generate and validate final quotes, forms, and documentation for binding, coordinating with policy issuance and servicing teams as needed.
- Maintain accuracy of in-force policies, execute mid-term changes, and support renewals readiness by updating data and preparing handoffs to underwriters.
- Collaborate with Senior Underwriters to ensure consistent and high-quality output, escalating complex or flagged submissions as appropriate.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to support career progression toward more senior underwriting roles.
Education
- High School Diploma or relevant work experience required
