Job Description
Key Objective:To effectively execute the Westchester Environmental unit strategy for our package and monoline business.
Specific Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
- Solicits new and renewal submissions from brokers
- Determines terms and conditions and complex rating plans
- Quotes/Binds coverage
- Documents the underwriting files
- Develop/maintain internal/external client relationships.
- Takes ownership of given production goals and utilizes all available department resources to achieve said goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Minimum 1 year of experience preferably within underwriting
- Knowledge of the insurance industry
- Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures
- Experience in underwriting environmental lines of business is preferred. This includes but is not limited to the following coverage lines: Commercial General Liability, Contractors Pollution Liability, Professional Liability, Site Pollution Liability, Excess Liability, Business Auto
Good Level Of Underwriting Knowledge Including
- Exposure Analysis and Forms & Coverages
- Rating Principles and Mechanics
- Proficiency in Typing and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills
- Strong Organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proven Broker Relations & Customer Management skill set
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Negotiation & Presentation Skills
- Strong Business Acumen
- Experience working in the E&S/wholesale market space is ideal
The pay range for the role is $82,000 to $118,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
