The Underwriting Performance Manager is responsible for setting the Pricing Standards for all of International. Working with the International CUO, you will make sure that all regions and business units have an effective pricing strategy to enable them to hit their objectives. This is an important position, using actuarial skills and a commercial mindset, across the whole range of Markel International’s distribution channels and product lines, with a direct line into the CUO.
We’re all about people | We win together | We strive for better | We enjoy the everyday | We think further
Who we are:
Markel International is the unit of Markel Group focusing on the insurance business outside of the US and Bermuda. We offer a range of products, across geographies including Canada, the UK, Europe and Asia Pacific, and via both the Lloyd’s and company markets. We have exciting plans to grow the business and really put Markel on the map, and you could have a key role to play.
The Office of the Chief Underwriting Officer (“OCUO”) makes sure that our underwriting is safe. Whether it be the wording, aggregation, customer suitability, pricing or performance of a given product, class, or region, that safe growth is Markel International’s success through all phases of the insurance cycle. You will work with all business divisions and regions in order to put Markel International in the best position possible to achieve our goals. This will be achieved with technical expertise, relationship-building, and of course, the Markel style, our cultural touchstone that makes Markel such an amazing place to work.
