The Role:
The Senior Broker Services Technician, reports to the Central Broker Services Manager within Operations and is responsible for the oversight of internal broker services to the Syndicate and Service Companies. They will have a strong knowledge of the London Market, while coordinating the processing of claims and premium through the inhouse broker, utilising our fully functional offshore team. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance their own exceptional market knowledge and will include providing training and guidance to both on and offshore team members leading them through to the resolution of the vast array of technical queries and complexities presented as part of daily BAU.
Key Responsibilities
- To lead and provide support / oversight of our offshore partner.
- Ability to produce premium LPANS and upload documentation onto the IMR.
- To oversee the information received offshore from our Service Companies and resolve / support any complex queries related to data and payments / receipts for premium and claims bordereaux.
- Liaise with our Underwriting and Claims departments and Xchanging to resolve queries.
- Oversight and adherence to all internal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure coverholders comply with Lloyd’s and Xchanging processing requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with Local and Overseas Underwriters and Claims Adjusters, our current outsource provider, Coverholders, Finance and treasury Teams.
- Lead in the resolution of legacy issues including to clear and reconcile cash across relative ledgers.
- Involvement with projects and additional duties related to CBS Team functions.
- Provide direction to the ledger allocation team regarding the timely reconciliation of ledgers.
- Provide technical support to other members of the CBS team.
- Produce ad-hoc reports as required.
- Proactively identify opportunities for automation or efficiency
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Skills And Experience
- Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook, Pivot Tables essential
- Familiarity with the broker’s role within the Lloyds environment
- Familiarity with the Underwriters role within a Syndicate environment
- Familiarity with Xchanging processes
- Knowledge of London Market practices and regulatory requirements
- Basic knowledge of Subscribe
- Understanding of Cash and Non-Cash Signings
- Understanding of FDOs and contract wordings and relative Lloyd’s risk codes.
- Understand Internal Broker processes from a premium and claims perspective
