Auditor to join our Internal Audit Team for Europe.

The Role
As an Internal Auditor, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference to Phoenix Group by providing assurance and insight which informs the GIA discussion with Management and the Board regarding the effectiveness of the risk, governance and control environment across the Group
You will be responsible for supporting the ongoing risk assessment of the business through the execution of audits, provision of insight gained from business interactions and performing validation of Management’s action. You will support ad-hoc GIA projects over a variety of areas focusing on GIA's continuous improvement journey. A key part of the role is establishing effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across all 3 Lines of Defence, demonstrating your ability to generate trust, provide insight and be flexible to gain consensus.
You will have the opportunity for personal and professional development and to contribute to the achievement of the Group's Strategy, vision and core social purpose. Key accountabilities of this role include: -
- Delivering of high quality audit work aligned with GIA methodology and in accordance with IIA standards, supporting the ongoing risk assessment of the business through the execution of audits.
- Contributing to the ongoing maintenance and development of the Audit Universe, using your knowledge from audit delivery or insight from stakeholder interactions.
- Providing support and input to GIA Leadership opinions over the effectiveness of Phoenix Group governance, risk and control environment.
- Contributing to wider Audit team development through knowledge sharing and provision of support to fellow team members.
- Proactively seek opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of audit delivery, including by the use of technology / data analytics / case sampling throughout individual audit assignments to bring efficiencies to our work and sharing of information.
- Developing and maintaining good relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in a way that fosters trust, openness, two way communication and delivers good outcomes.
Our ideal candidate will have the following personal attributes and skills: -
- Some experience in Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk Assurance, or Controls Assurance within Financial Services.
- Understanding of financial services regulation and its impact on risk and control environments.
- Curiosity, initiative and passion to learn new skills, understand our business and the environment it operates in
- Personal resilience and ability to adapt to auditing in a complex and evolving business environment, with a willingness to continually learn and grow.
- Strong communication skills, with ability to build good relationships
- Ability to effectively organise your time, prioritising and, where applicable, delegating activities to efficiently accomplish tasks and meet objectives by proactively balancing responsibilities
- You will be a key member of our team and can expect our full support and guidance, with access to a wide range of skills and experience for support across Group Internal Audit.
This role has been identified as CF - 2 under the Central Bank of Ireland ’s Fitness & Probity regime. The successful candidate will be required to comply with the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity Standards on an ongoing basis.
