Key Responsibilities: Lead the development of Chaucer Group Accounting Policy for roll out across the Group and ensure compliance within Chaucer entity / branch accounting and reporting functions and ensuring consistency in approach across the Group Maintain and enhance the financial control environment with regards to Group reporting activities and the broader financial control framework. Deliver high-quality Group consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial, statutory and regulatory reporting deliverables to both internal and external stakeholders in compliance with IFRS and regulatory guidance. Lead IFRS17 reporting for Finance including leadership of ongoing IFRS17 programme deliverables Managing the external audit to ensure key deadlines and deliverables are met Champion and support the Group Finance Director in developing a continuous improvement culture utilising external insights and best practice. Actively support both Finance and Group-wide projects relevant to the role Lead, manage and develop a team Be a proactive member of the Finance leadership team Lead and role model a culture of excellence across the wider Financial team Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience require: Post 8 years fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) Strong technical and financial reporting knowledge within the financial services sector (preferably the insurance sector) Ability to constructively challenge and analyse results Hands on approach and a keen eye for detail Strong problem solving skills Strong control mindset and experience Good understanding of group consolidation principles and financial reporting systems Experience of delivering change and continuously improving Reporting Relationships/ Interactions: Reports to the Group Finance Director Maintain constructive and supportive professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including the Finance Senior Leadership team, our Regulators and external Auditors Lead the relationship with China Re around all financial accounting and reporting matters ABOUT US Chaucer is a leading insurance group at Lloyd’s, the world’s specialist insurance market.
