Field based Quality Development Consultant 12month FTC

About the role:
We’re seeking a Quality Development Consultant to join us on a 12-month Secondment to cover maternity leave.
When joining our Governance and Controls team, you’ll influence and monitor the performance of Agents of NFU Mutual across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to ensure sales of NFUM products and services meet the required quality and regulatory standards.
You'll be promoting best practices to provide excellent service to our customers and minimise breaches and complaints. You’ll be an integral part of a dynamic regional sales team, whilst also working independently and one-to-one with our partners in the NFU Mutual Agency network.
You'll be involved in a range of activities including:
- Support and oversee new Agents to ensure initial training, monitoring and sales support is provided
- The monitoring, assessing and coaching of existing agents in order to achieve the required standards of competence
- Analyse, proactively identify, report and escalate common or systemic quality risks and issues, to influence and support the shaping of national development solutions or risk mitigation action, to ensure customers and NFUMs reputation is protected
- Complete Agency Training & Competency audits to gain control assurance and ensure that any remedial actions are identify setting agreed actions for these to meet compliance requirements
This is a varied and interesting role where you will need to quickly build and develop strong working relationships with regional sales teams, Learning & Organisational Development and Head Office colleagues. You'll ensure effective collaboration exists across the regional team and all General Insurance Training and competence are met within your Agencies. As part of this varied role, you’ll go through a thorough training programme with our Head Office Training and Competence team to ensure that you are fully confident in your assessments.
This is a field-based role that requires multi-site travel across the region, including ad-hoc travel to York for 1:1s.
This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”. About you:
You’ll bring a strong foundation of General Insurance (GI) Sales and relevant regulatory knowledge. It would be advantageous for you to hold a full GI licences and ATCS, but this is not essential. Your experience of assessing work against Training and Competence Governance and Compliance or Quality Assurance schemes means you’re confident assessing performance, ensuring that services meet the required quality and regulatory standards.
With a natural ability to influence and negotiate, you’re skilled at handling and resolving conflicts with both internal and external stakeholders. You’re comfortable providing constructive feedback and coaching, and you take pride in mentoring others to support their development.
To join the team, you'll also possess the following skills:
- Organisation and stakeholder engagement are key strengths
- Competent usage of Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Excel, Outlook and Power BI to support your work.
- Strong verbal communication skills are clear and effective, helping you build strong relationships across the business and present to stakeholders
A full UK driving licence is essential, as travel is required to support colleagues across different locations.
