The role
This role plays a key part in delivering the firms approach to Operational Resilience and how it is delivered and driven forward across the globe. Responsibilities include leading the delivery of consultancy and direction for policies, standards and professional activities across Operational Resilience to Business Units and the wider firm to comply with policies and follow industry best practice.
In addition to driving forward bast practice in the firm the role holder will contribute to the culture of resilience across Pheonix and work to champion resilience with all stakeholder groups using tools such as AI, Industry forums and learnings from incidents to support the resilience agenda.
We’re seeking an Operational Resilience Manager with strong domain knowledge, excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills, and a background resilience in the financial services industry (ideally Asset / Investment Management)
This role works closely with the central Operational Resilience team, business unit Business Partners and wider team, taking a lead in driving forward resilience and supporting the key regulatory and policy requirements around resilience,
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver consultancy: set direction for policies, standards and professional activities to help areas comply with policy and follow best industry practice.
- Deliver projects: Considering technical system specifications and threats and risks and support wider group initiatives so that the business is protected and resilient.
- Design and deliver training: For staff up to Executive level to ensure resilience is embedded within the organisation and policy requirements are maintained.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships: With staff within the policy framework (e.g. BU PO / BU PIM).
- Maintain up to date knowledge of industry best practices / Regulatory expectations
- Manage and deliver initiatives: Which maintain overall Operational Resilience, Incident and Crisis Management capability across the Group
- Manage incidents and incidents: So they are resolved in line with relevant legislation and company processes and make decisions to protect the business.
- Champion the Operational Resilience across the group: Bringing their expertise and perspective to help uplift operational resilience
- Leverage experience of resilience related activities in the Asset / Investment Management industry to drive forward resilience
- Mentorship: Provide informal mentorship and support to colleagues across Operational Resilience, sharing knowledge and encouraging development, particularly in areas such as process improvement and emerging technologies.
What are we looking for?
Essential
- Proven expertise in Operational Resilience and the expectations set out under PRA SS 1/21 and FCA SYSC 15 and wider regulations (DORA etc)
- Strong policy and Risk / controls skills with the ability to work to embed these into areas successfully
- Highly skilled in assessing and understanding complex business services to support senior management decisions around Important Business Services and Impact Tolerances
- Strong Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience of supporting Incidents management activities and the steps required to recover from incidents
- Effective planning skills and a high level of organisation and discipline to meet specific target dates and objectives
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written with an ability to articulate clearly and logically

- Ability to work independently, have excellent problem-solving skills and use initiative to identify and act on issues, acting or escalating as appropriate
- Experience of Operational Resilience in the Asset / Investment Management industry
