Description
As the first dedicated Exposure Management Analyst within CFC, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our exposure management capabilities. Working closely with underwriters and the wider Performance Management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all exposures, both natural catastrophe (nat-cat) and non-nat-cat (predominantly Terrorism) are accurately captured, assessed, and monitored in line with our risk appetite.
You will support the design and implementation of exposure management tools and frameworks, enabling effective capture and interpretation of risk data, policy terms, and conditions. In addition, you will contribute to building and automating workflows for scheduled reporting and recurring modelling tasks, enhancing efficiency and analytical capabilities across the function.
This role offers a unique opportunity to help define and embed exposure management governance and processes from the ground up, while delivering critical modelling analysis and reporting to inform underwriting and strategic decision-making across the business.
About the role
· Production of exposure management MI: Oversee the roll-up process and contribute to the creation of management information (MI) used across all levels of the business and any other internal/external reporting. This includes performing quality control checks on data entries.
· Underwriting team support: Assist underwriting teams in developing and executing their exposure management strategies. This includes creating and monitoring exposure plans in line with portfolio objectives and risk appetite.
· Process improvement and data quality: Contribute to and lead initiatives aimed at improving exposure management processes, automating workflows, and ensuring that data remains accurate, consistent, and up to date
· Development and maintenance of exposure management tools: Support the ongoing development and enhancement of exposure management tools, ensuring tools remain fit for purpose in collaboration with underwriting and IT as required.
· Event response and loss estimation: Participate in event response processes for both nat-cat and non-nat-cat events by providing timely and accurate exposure and claims information to key stakeholders.
About you
Good working knowledge of catastrophe modelling principles, processes, workflow and experience using a recognised vendor catastrophe model.
Direct exposure to working with underwriters and actuaries within commercial insurers, Lloyd’s syndicates, London market insurers, brokers, or MGAs.
Demonstrated experience in analytical Exposure Management roles, delivering high-quality MI and reporting
Strong background in data modelling and quantitative analysis
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
Advanced analytical and numerical capabilities, with a strong problem-solving mindset.
Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proven ability to thrive under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines.
High level of IT proficiency, including strong SQL and MS Office expertise—particularly Excel (VBA experience highly valued)
Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, R or other programming/database tools is highly desirable.
Relevant academic background and professional certifications in line with the role requirements.
