The Team
The Underwriting Insurance team at Convex offers a fantastic opportunity to help build the insurance portfolio of the future in a rapidly developing landscape. As an intern, you will be right at the heart of the action, supporting underwriters in broker meetings and negotiations while learning the technical essentials of pricing and insurance terms and conditions. Underwriters here are responsible for the critical evaluation, pricing, and acceptance of risks across various lines of business—such as Property, Energy, Aviation, Marine, and Casualty—to manage a resilient portfolio.
You won't be working in a silo; this role involves close collaboration with teams across Convex, including Claims, Operations, and Portfolio Optimisation (Actuarial and Pricing). Your day-to-day tasks will be varied, ranging from analysing market and competitor dynamics to preparing management information and reporting on specific risks for senior managers. It is a highly interactive environment where you will also assist with portfolio monitoring and renewal management, providing a comprehensive look at how a global insurer identifies and accepts risk.
