IAT has an immediate opening for a full time Administrative Assistant in our Norristown, Pennsylvania or Newark, New Jersey location. This role works a hybrid schedule from our office. The hybrid schedule requires working in the office with colleagues and other disciplines Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely, reflecting our values of thinking and acting like an owner, collaboration, and teamwork.
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing support to several claims professionals Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up surety claims files
- Preparing our initial responses to new surety bond claims by generating and mailing correspondence
- Calendaring important milestone dates for new claims.
- Assisting claims handlers with managing litigation
- Serving as an important point of contact for communications with claimants, bond principals and other parties
- Maintaining electronic files by scanning documents and then classifying and saving them to our electronic claims system
- Achieving, after training, proficiency in our company processes and systems, including the AS400 claims system
- Handling confidential information professionally and consistent with IAT policies
Qualifications:
- High School degree
- Dependable/punctual
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding of insurance company claims processes (investigation, contract interpretation, negotiation, and knowledge of relevant laws) is desirable, however we are willing to train the right candidate
- Ability to communicate effectively with lawyers, company employees and external clients
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Proficiency with MS Office software (e.g. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access) and ability to learn and follow company claims systems and procedures
- To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.
Compensation:
Please note, that the hourly rate associated with this posting is $14.95 – $32.54. Actual hourly rates will vary based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location related to this specific role. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more.
