Job Profile Summary The Data Product Manager plays a key role in enabling Chaucer’s data transformation by supporting the delivery of data products across the new data platform. Reporting to the Data Platforms Delivery Manager, the role is responsible for translating transformation priorities into executable backlogs, managing sprint delivery, and ensuring dependencies across data, analytics, and business teams are effectively coordinated. Key Responsibilities Data Product Delivery & Execution Support the delivery of data products within the data transformation roadmap, ensuring agreed scope is delivered to time and quality. Manage day‑to‑day sprint execution across data initiatives, maintaining momentum and delivery flow. Track progress against delivery milestones, identifying risks, issues, and dependencies and escalating appropriately to the Data Platforms Delivery Manager. Coordinate delivery activity across data engineering, and business teams to ensure readiness and alignment. Agile Delivery Management Plan and facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and showcases. Maintain sprint boards, delivery plans, and agile metrics to provide transparency of progress and blockers. Support consistent agile ways of working across the data transformation team, contributing to continuous improvement in delivery practices. Ensure delivery cadence supports phased, incremental value delivery. Product & Backlog Management Support Translate data transformation priorities and high‑level outcomes into structured backlogs and well‑defined user stories. Work closely with the Data Platforms Delivery Manager, data architects, and data leads to sequence work effectively and manage dependencies. Ensure acceptance criteria are clear, outcomes are measurable, and deliverables align to agreed objectives. Support prioritisation decisions to balance strategic initiatives, dependencies, and delivery capacity. Stakeholder & Cross‑Team Coordination Act as the primary day‑to‑day coordination point between delivery teams, business stakeholders, and third‑party partners. Support alignment across data platform initiatives. Provide regular delivery updates and maintain clear visibility of progress, risks, and upcoming milestones. Governance, Quality & Assurance Support adherence to Chaucer’s delivery standards, governance controls, and assurance processes. Ensure delivery artefacts, documentation, and plans are maintained to an agreed standard. Support risk‑based delivery decisions and proportional governance aligned to the data transformation programme. Skills and Competencies Experience in agile delivery roles such as Data Product Manager, Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, or Product Owner. Experience supporting delivery of data platforms, analytics, or technology‑led transformation programmes. Backlog management, planning, and coordination skills. Ability to manage multiple dependencies and stakeholders in a complex environment. Communication and facilitation skills. Education A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline desirable. Professional certifications in Agile delivery (e.g. Certified Scrum Master, SAFe, PMI-ACP) or data-related disciplines (e.g. DAMA, CDMP) desirable.
