Position Title: Insurance Consultant (BankServe)

Summary of Position:
We are looking for an Insurance Consultant to work within a high profile team to provide insurance consulting services to financiers and their legal counsel.
BMS acts exclusively for financiers, advising on the effectiveness of Owners’ and Operators’ insurance programmes and transferring risk to insurers on behalf of more than 100 financial institutions worldwide. Our scale, experience and specialist focus mean we are widely regarded as leaders in our field, working with many of the world’s top financial institutions and operating entirely without conflict, with a clear understanding of financiers’ priorities.
With a global client base across the UK, Europe and key finance and shipping hubs in Asia, our consulting, broking and claims teams form the largest specialist group in this sector. For over 25 years, we have led the development and refinement of insurance structures for shipping and offshore finance, combining deep technical expertise and long-standing market relationships to deliver practical, commercial outcomes for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review Owners or Charterers vessel insurances with the aim of producing written reports for Lenders or Lessors advising on the adequacy of the insurances.
- Assist Lenders or Lessors (and/or their legal counsel) in dealing with points raised in the insurance reports.
- Review, in conjunction with the legal counsel for Lenders and Lessors, the insurance covenants in financing documents.
- Provide general insurance advice (written or oral) to Lenders, Lessors and their legal counsel on current market issues.
- Maintain and build on existing client relationships, ensuring the highest standards of integrity and client service are maintained in all the Company’s dealings.
- Adhere to company and regulatory policies, procedures together with mandatory training requirements.

- An understanding of Marine insurance with technical knowledge in this sector.
