How does this role contribute to our collective success?
The Pricing function supports underwriters and management in building robust and profitable portfolios by providing objective insights through deep product expertise.
As a Junior Portfolio Pricing Analyst, you will support the pricing and monitoring of portfolio deals, helping to produce analysis that informs underwriting decisions. This role is designed to build foundational actuarial and portfolio pricing skills, with exposure to structured and multi-class portfolio solutions in the London Market.
What will you do in this role?
- Support the pricing of portfolio deals by preparing data, running models, and assisting in the production of analysis for pricing decisions.
- Work with underwriters and actuarial colleagues to understand risk profiles and contribute to pricing analysis and evaluation of deal structures.
- Assist with portfolio monitoring, including analysis of rate change, premium adequacy, exposure movements, and loss experience to support insights on performance.
- Help maintain and update pricing tools, models, benchmarks, and portfolio metrics, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Contribute to the development of expected loss ratios and key pricing assumptions for business planning, considering business mix, market conditions, and observed trends.
- Perform data validation, analysis, and basic modelling to support pricing and portfolio analytics.
- Collaborate with teams across underwriting, reserving, catastrophe modelling, capital, and finance to support aligned analysis and outputs.
- Participate in team projects and actively develop technical, actuarial, and commercial skills.

About You:

What you need to have:
- First class or 2:1 university degree.
- Interest in qualifying as a member of an actuarial society.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Ability to document work appropriately.

- Self-starter and a quick learner with strong numeracy skills.
- Willing to question and investigate.
- Strong data analytical skills.
- Interest in the insurance industry.
What we prefer you to have:
- Experience within the insurance industry either academically or through prior internships.
- Familiarity with SQL, VBA, R, Microsoft Office is preferrable.

- Be in the office 3 days per week, or when required.
