Over three years, you’ll gain hands-on experience through two 18-month placements in key areas of Finance, including:Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)This team helps the business understand financial performance and make good decisions.You’ll gain experience in areas such as:sales and claims performancestrategic planningreporting to senior leaders Financial Reporting & Controls (FRC)This team manages financial and regulatory reporting across the Group. It also helps maintain strong financial controls and good practice. During this placement, you’ll:build technical knowledge in statutory and regulatory reportingwork with teams across the business and external auditorslearn how reporting, data management and technology support finance decisionswork alongside our specialist Data and Tech team Properties FinanceThis team manages transactions, budgeting and financial reporting for all NFU Mutual properties. You’ll gain experience in:statutory reportingBudgeting and financial planningworking closely with the wider Properties TeamYou’ll be based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire with hybrid working depending on business needs. Regular office time will help you collaborate with your team and learn from experienced colleagues.This scheme is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Join us and by the end of the scheme, you’ll have built the knowledge, confidence and experience to help the business make informed financial decisions.Application ProcessIf your application is shortlisted, there are three stages:Online assessment – to help us understand how you learn and solve problems.Video interview – a short interview to learn more about you.Assessment centre – an in-person day where you’ll take part in activities such as a group exercise, a role-specific task and a skills-based interview.The assessment centres will take place at our Head Office in Stratford-upon-Avon. You’ll be invited to attend on either 14th or 16th December.Your futureThis scheme is designed to help you build your core finance skills, and work towards recognised qualifications. We’ll support you to gain the knowledge and experience you need for a successful career.You’ll be supported by experienced colleagues, a dedicated buddy and a mentor who will help you maximise your development and career opportunities. You’ll also be part of a strong graduate community, with opportunities to connect with current and former graduates, build your network and learn from others on similar schemes.As you come towards the end of the scheme, a careers coach will help you think about your next role and plan your next steps.It’s not all about work either. We encourage our graduates to get involved in extracurricular activities, from volunteering and organising charity or social events to representing NFU Mutual at industry events, all in line with our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework. What we're looking forQualifications and skillsYou'll need to have achieved, or be on track for, at least a 2:1 degree. While your degree doesn’t need to be in a specific subject, we do prefer candidates with a strong numerical or analytical focus in their studies.More importantly, we’re looking for individuals with a passion for learning, curiosity, and the potential to grow.To help you succeed on the scheme, you’ll bring:Strong analytical and numerical skills – working confidently with numbers and information.Communication and relationship-building skills – sharing information clearly and building strong working relationships.Digital literacy, particularly Excel – using spreadsheets and tools to organise and analyse data.Time management and organisational skills – planning your work and managing deadlines.Initiative and self-management skills – taking ownership and looking for ways to learn and improve.Problem-solving skills – thinking practically and finding a way forward when tasks are complex.If you can bring these qualities, we can help you develop the rest.Work experienceIndustry experience or a placement year within Financial Services or accountancy would be a real advantage, but it isn’t essential.
