Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Business Transformation Analyst to join UK Change and Transformation within our Insurance Operations team. This role will sit within our London and UK Regions COO function.
The UK Change and Transformation team play a vital role in delivering improvements into those operational teams which support Underwriting, Claims and other support functions, whilst at the same time undertaking transformation activities with which to broaden, and better control the services provided by these teams.
This exciting opportunity will allow the incumbent to lead business analysis activities across a portfolio of strategic change initiatives, working closely with senior leadership, business stakeholders, technology teams, and delivery colleagues to shape and implement solutions aligned with Sompo’s strategic goals. In today’s environment, this requires a modern analytical and delivery mindset, including strong data fluency, the ability to use collaboration platforms effectively, and the practical application of AI-enabled tools to enhance the quality, pace, and insightfulness of analysis. This role will play a key part in supporting business growth and strengthening the operational resilience of the services provided to Underwriting, Underwriting Operations, Claims, and UK Insurance supporting functions.

What you’ll be doing: The Senior Business Transformation Analyst plays a critical role in shaping the future operating model of our Commercial Insurance business. Acting as a strategic partner to business leaders, this role combines deep insurance expertise, advanced analytical capability and technology awareness to identify opportunities, define solutions and drive enterprise-wide transformation.
The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of business, data, technology and change, helping the organisation leverage AI, automation and modern digital capabilities to improve performance, efficiency and customer outcomes.
Strategic Analysis & Business Architecture
- Lead analysis of complex business challenges across underwriting, claims, pricing, operations and distribution.
- Develop end-to-end views of processes, capabilities, value streams and operating models.
- Identify strategic opportunities to improve efficiency, growth, control and customer experience.
- Support target operating model and future-state design activities.
Transformation Leadership
- Lead discovery and shaping activities for major transformation programmes.
- Facilitate senior stakeholder workshops and strategic decision-making sessions.
- Define business outcomes, success measures and benefits frameworks.
- Provide thought leadership on business change and continuous improvement.
Data, Insight & Decision Support
- Use advanced analytical techniques to identify trends and opportunities.
- Translate large datasets into strategic recommendations.
- Define KPI frameworks and management information requirements.
- Partner with data science and analytics teams to unlock business value.
AI & Digital Innovation
- Champion adoption of AI-enabled ways of working.
- Assess opportunities for GenAI, workflow automation and intelligent decision support.
- Use tools such as Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT and emerging AI platforms to accelerate delivery and insight generation.
- Act as a bridge between business experts and technology specialists.
Commercial Insurance Expertise
Lead and contribute to initiatives involving:
- Underwriting Workbench transformation
- Claims modernisation
- Pricing and rating platforms
- Digital trading and broker connectivity
- Policy administration modernisation
- Delegated authority ecosystems
- Operational resilience and regulatory change
Leadership & Influence
- Build strong relationships across Executive, Business and Technology stakeholders.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Significant Business Analysis experience within Commercial Insurance.
- Strong understanding of London Market and Company Market operations.
- Experience delivering large-scale transformation programmes.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Experience using SQL, Power BI, Tableau or similar analytics tools.
- Demonstrated use of AI-enabled tools and techniques.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- Exposure to Business Architecture frameworks.
- Lean Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Product ownership or consulting background.
- Experience with cloud, workflow and automation platforms.
